Rolex Submariner "Sea-Dweller" | Ref. 16660 | 1986 | Unique 'Crystalized' Patina Look!

Condition

Pre-owned in good vintage condition. There are signs of use on the case, bracelet, bezel insert, and dial. These include minor scratches and nicks, small dings, and unique patina on the dial, likely from moisture many, many years ago. The bezel insert is likely a later service replacement (luminova), and has a hairline crack where the lume pip is (which you can't really notice). It has been recently externally deep-cleaned. We have not polished this watch in any way, but we can not say it was not polished at some point in its 40 years of existence. Please view all photos carefully to judge the condition.

• DIAL: [MK 4 Bis Lemrich Dial] Unique patina across the glossy black dial. Slightly yellowed tritium lume plots. Slightly heavier tritium degradation on the "1" and "8" hour plots. 
• BEZEL INSERT: This is likely a service insert, due to the lume pip glowing like luminova. There are scratches and wear on the bezel. There is a hairline crack on the left side of the lume pip, which is hardly noticeable. 
• HANDS: Slightly yellowed tritium hands
• CASEBACK [MK 3 Caseback]: This has a period-correct MK 3 Caseback, which had very faint engraving to begin with, compared to previous iterations. Over time, and potential polishing from the past, the engraving on the case back has worn down SIGNIFICANTLY to the point of not really being able to see it any more at all. You can see remnants of the engraving at the right angle and light, under magnification.

Timing and Functionality

The watch is currently working and running well. It passes a 3 BAR Water Resistance test, but is a vintage piece! We do not recommend or guarantee waterproofness. For ideal accuracy and performance, a movement service could be beneficial, but not necessary.
